Explore Venice Beach live music hot spots

Southern California is known around the world for its vibrant music scene. Every visitor to the area should take advantage of this opportunity to hear some great bands. While you're staying at your Venice Beach vacation rental, check out some of these popular locations to hear some great music.

Danny's Venice (23 Winward Avenue)

On Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturday nights, Danny's is a hub of great local talent. Musical styles vary widely, but it is generally acoustic-electric that is listener-friendly and enjoyable to hear while eating. The restaurant offers an eclectic mix of California cuisine and comfort food favorites. Hours: 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily. 

Hinano's (15 Washington Boulevard)

Hinano's has been serving world-famous hamburgers since 1962 and was Jim Morrison's favorite Southern California hangout spot. On weekend nights, various original and cover bands from the Los  Angeles area perform. Hours: 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily. 

Santino's Panineria (1611 Pacific Avenue)

Every Thursday night Santino's hosts an acoustic music set featuring artists from Venice Beach and Los Angeles. On Friday and Saturday nights, a DJ spins popular tunes. The restaurant also has a great selection of tapas, salads and panini grilled sandwiches. Customers also get a free pizza with every pitcher of sangria ordered. Hours: Monday through Wednesday 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Thursday 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. and Friday through Saturday 11 a.m. through 1:30 a.m.

The Venice Whaler (10 Washington Boulevard)

Hear some great unplugged talent on Acoustic Tuesdays at the Whaler. Live cover bands take the stage Wednesday through Saturday nights, and there is definitely something for everyone. Hours: Monday through Friday 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.
