Find great fresh food at these Santa Monica Farmers Markets

Since 1981, the Santa Monica Farmers Markets have been at the forefront of the locavore movement. Managed by the city, they are the only California Certified Farmers Markets (CFM) in Southern California, meaning that customers who purchase produce from the market can be assured that it came directly from the farm where it was grown, without middlemen. Sixty percent of the markets' vendors are also certified organic farmers. Each week you can also find a variety of artisan cheeses, natural meats, baked goods, fresh seafood, and other products.

There are currently four markets in the city that are convenient for anyone to visit, no matter when you are staying at your Santa Monica vacation rental

Wednesday Downtown Farmers Market

Location: Arizona Avenue and Second Street

Time: 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Saturday Downtown Farmers Market

The Downtown markets are the largest and are commonly frequented by culinary professionals. Each week, a restaurant from downtown Santa Monica is featured in a food tent on Arizona Avenue.

Pico Farmers Market

Pico is a smaller market mostly run by families. It is a bit more serious and frequented by store owners.

Main Street Farmers Market
