America’s premier ballet academy is coming to Los Angeles. Sound too good to be true? Residents and visitors staying in Los Angeles vacation rentals will be glad to know that dancers from the Joffrey Ballet will be performing two mixed-bill programs on Friday, February 1, Saturday, February 2 and Sunday, February 3 at the?The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. The venue is located at?135 North Grand Avenue.
Mixed-bill programs are various works that make up a single night of entertainment. Tonight, individuals who are interested can attend Christopher Wheeldon’s “After the Rain” and Stanton Welch’s “Son of Chamber Symphony.” Saturday and Sunday’s shows will be William Forsythe’s “In the Middle, Somewhat Elevated” and Edwaard Liang’s “Age of Innocence.”?
The shows on Friday and Saturday begin at 7:30 p.m. while the Sunday show is a matinee and starts at 2:00 p.m. Tickets range from around $35 to $125.
The Joffrey?is here for the weekend only, so if you have time, you should attend one of the shows. The performances in L.A. are the beginning of a nine-month series of exhibits, dances, lectures and demonstrations that highlight the fascinating life and works of composer and ballet conductor Igor Stravinsky.?
