It’s 75 degrees in Venice Beach, why not ice cream?!

It may be winter, but that doesn’t mean ice cream isn’t as satisfying as when it is hot outside. If you are staying in a Venice Beach vacation rental and are looking for a place in the neighborhood to enjoy this sinfully delicious dessert, then look no further than N’iceCream. With locations that include 1410 Abbot Kinney Boulevard and 619 Ocean Front Walk, this is family owned shop has been serving up homemade organic gelato and sorbet since 2008.

This adorable shop was founded by Laura Nielsen and Christian Toxboe, both of whom moved from Denmark in 2008 with dreams of establishing a gelato business in Los Angeles County. After becoming enamored with Venice, their next task became locating the perfect street to set up shop. The husband and wife duo says they were drawn to Abbot Kinney Boulevard because of the various grassroots organizations and local shops located there.

All 16 flavors offered are produced on a daily basis, so that you can rest assured that whether you select good old-fashioned chocolate gelato or strawberry sorbet, it is going to be fresh as can be. If you aren’t in the mood for ice cream, you can also get smoothies, lattes and cappuccinos.

Residents and Venice tourists have raved about N’IceCream since it opened its doors. According to, one California woman said that “This is an addictive food?that has me traveling 300 miles from my home just to get a taste. It’s simply the best gelato.”

If you’d like to find out what is so delectable about N’IceCream, then don’t hesitate to stop by. The shop is open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. or 11 p.m. depending on the day. Coffee is available starting soon after the doors open and gelato is served at 11 a.m.
