Toward the end of October, when the much of the United States was preparing for Halloween, superstorm Hurricane Sandy was busy tearing through the eastern seaboard. As a result of the the high winds, which reached 110 miles per hour, electricity was lost, homes were destroyed and more than 110 lives were lost.
Santa Monica’s Yankee Doodles, located at 1401 Third Street Promenade, will host a fundraiser for those that were impacted by Sandy on Friday, November 16 at 7 p.m. All of the money that the sports bar raises will go directly toward the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
There will also be the opportunity to win some great prizes, like gift certificates and service packages, through a raffle. Tickets can be purchased for $10 and cash and personal checks will be accepted.
Challenge your friend to a game of pool or darts, dance to the beat of the night as D.J. Stoney spins the latest tracks and take advantage of drink specials that will be available when you purchase a raffle ticket.
One of the many great things about this charitable event is that you can donate any amount that you feel is appropriate, whether that be $5, $10, $20 or more. Any amount is going to help the victims of the storm.
